“Pastors have to change their thinking.” That was the comment of Pastor Ronnie Floyd of Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas one of the largest churches in America. I was meeting with Pastor Floyd this past week in part to discuss continuing plans to increase giving at Cross Church. We talked not only about their giving but the state of giving among American churches in general and how so many pastors fail to plan for stewardship success.
“Too many pastors only think about stewardship planning when it comes time to have a capital campaign,” he said. ”They need to get out of that mind set and think about giving as part of what we teach people to be as disciples of Christ.” Can I say, Amen! Far too many churches and pastors are focused upon the wrong thing!
Are you focused on the wrong thing? I know our minds are upon Christmas and all the events that surround us during this time. Yet are you thinking about how your giving year will end? Did you take steps to assure that it will end well? What about setting the stage for a successful giving year in 2014? We started planning on Cross Church’s 2014 giving plan months ago! You have to plan for success.
At The Charis Group our focus is upon more than simply capital campaigns. While there are times that you need to raise funds for special projects or to pay off debt, most of the time you are focused upon making this month’s budget. We get that and it is one reason why we have developed plans for any size church.
My goal is to reverse the decline in giving one church at a time starting with your church! I can help you have a successful giving year in 2014. To do that I have to jump over a few hurdles that churches typically erect. Here are a few of the more prominent hurdles…
One of the primary hurdles we have to overcome when we work with churches is price! As a result if a church has a giving plan at all they do it themselves. Why do churches DIY their own campaigns? To save money! I have made it affordable for any church to get professional help!
A major hurdle that pastors and church leaders have about developing a stewardship plan is they simply don’t know what to do. Why do pastors hate to develop giving plans? It’s complex and hard! We make it simple and easy!
The result is that giving declines and missions and ministry is impacted! If you don’t have a giving plan you will not raise much money! I can help you raise more money and fully fund your 2014 missions and ministry!
My plan is…
Affordable, Easy and Effective
