Why it’s time to start thinking about 2014 giving. I know that might sound strange but you do realize we are only days away from the New Year? I know you are consumed with plans for the Holidays but wise churches are thinking ahead to how they can fully fund all their missions and ministry initiatives in 2014. You should be thinking the same way. The steps you take today can assure successfully funding your missions and ministry initiatives! To that end here are some thoughts.
Begin with the end in mind. That is a now famous line from Stephen Covey’s book 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. For a church what is the end in mind, making budget, meeting all the missions and ministry needs of the year. So, start thinking and planning toward that end. As I always tell clients, “You never have to recover from a good start!”
End this year on a positive note. How you end this year will be the platform upon which you build for success next year. 22% of charities monies comes the last two days of the year! So it is crucial that you have a good end of year plan in place to garner as much dollars as possible.
