How Smaller Churches Can Get Giving Help

Large church pastors need giving help!

Large church pastors need giving help!

Sitting in Joel Osteen’s dining room talking about raising $100 million dollars was one of my stewardship highlights.  Yet before I could get big headed a few days later I was in the office of a pastor that was thrilled that the Sunday before he had broken 200 in attendance.  I realized that day that God was telling me something, both large and small church pastors need help!

When it comes to evaluating churches American Christianity has fallen prey to Madison Avenue and Hollywood.  We think bigger is better and glitz and glamour are the equivalent of godliness.  Think that is an unfair characterization?  Consider the lineup of the next conference you are going to attend.  How many of the speakers are small church pastors?  Forget small, how many of the speakers are even medium size pastors?  Every conference out there, I check them all, all have essentially the same line up.  Don’t get me wrong they are all good including my pastor, Andy Stanley.  It is just that the view and mindset is skewed.

The median size of a U.S. congregation is 75.  Most churches in America are small.  Most Americans attend a church that is not a mega church.  That church has a hard working pastor that often has to do multiple tasks from preaching to counseling to cleaning out the rest rooms.  These pastors work just as hard for considerably less than their mega church peers.  These churches and their pastors and few staff are the unsung heroes of the American church scene.  The press covers the Mega boys but eternity will tell story of faithfulness from large churches to small.

The sad reality is that these churches, who minister to so many, go without help because the price is simply too high.  Almost daily I get a call from some pastor of a small church that needs our help.  I try to do what I can but frankly until now there has been little that I can do.  That is going to change!

My goal for our company in 2014 is to make our stewardship coaching…

The number one reason churches don’t get the help they need…

Price!  What happens is they never get help and continue to struggle financially.  What if we made getting help affordable?

Few churches, even those that can afford to hire help, have a giving plan.  Why is this?  It’s complex and hard!  What if we made it simple and easy doing basically all the work for you?

The main reason most churches fail even when they have a plan is no one holds them accountable!  The Tyranny of the Urgent swamps pastors and church leaders.  With all that they have to do already stewardship planning gets pushed all too often to the back burner.  This limits or simply destroys the effectiveness they need.

In 2014 I will help hold you accountable!  Remember it is affordable, easy and effective.  Find out how here…http://thecharisgroup.org/fully-funded-2014/

Let me help you be fully funded in 2014!
